Baby Paris
Here's a photo of Paris when he was a baby. Isn't he the cutest thing? Still is, in my eyes.
He is doing great with his food, it has been hard to not give him people food but thats the best thing for him right now.
He seems to be having a harder time finding his way back in from outside. Maybe I am helping him to much. I have to be more patient and wait for him. It's just so hard to see him bump his little nose into everything.

Exploring
Thankfully Paris is feeling much better. Good enough to do some exploring today!
Paris is back on his regular dog food and NO people food. This is hard for him and me too!

But he sure is happy to feel better!

Another update
Paris was throwing up white foamy stuff, so I took him to the vets again. I saw a different doctor who listened very carefully to his heart murmur and thinks it is a 4 out of 6. He said NO salt!
No people food. He has a mild case of pancreaitis. He is on boiled chicken a tiny portion at a time and sips of water, no gulping! He put him on Pepcid Ac and something to firm the stool.
Already today- better! No throwing up today or last night. But he sure is mad when he only gets a meatball sized portion of food.
Don't worry, tonight he gets two meatball sized portions!

Update
Paris still had a few hives left this morning. He threw up all night long. Today he is going outside and eating leaves and throwing up again. I just gave him some Pepto. Calling the vet in the morning. Keeping him hydrated. Sounds like an allergic reaction...but to what?

I spoke too soon! Rash!
Well I thought he was having a good week...
Going good
Things are going pretty good for Paris this week. Other than the usual bumping into things and losing his squeaky sock every now and then!
His medicine for his stinky skin is working and the cough medicine is controlling his cough.
Here's a picture of him in his favorite spot.

Good Checkup!
Well paranoid Mom that I am, I took Paris for his 6 month checkup a month early. I just had to get him checked out.
I was convinced he had congestive heart failure, and was about to go any day.
Thankfully I was WRONG!
My dear vet listened patiently to the recording I had made of Paris' cough, and all my concerns. He then asked how I was dealing with it all. How nice of him!
He said Paris's heart murmur sounded the same and his breathing in his lungs sounded clear. He said all the noise I hear is definatly coming from the trachea. He said he was as healthy as he could be for a dog who was blind. And yes he does have some hearing loss.

Paris was very happy with the news, but all tuckered out.
He was glad they didn't have to poke anything anywhere, too!

Yuck
Yesterday was a terrible day for Paris. I really thought I was going to lose him. He cried out in pain if I tried to pick him up, He wouldn't stand up or walk. He still ate and pottied but thats all. He laid with his legs spread out beside him and had a hard time breathing. I was afraid to give him anything for pain because of the hycodan he is on for his cough. I warmed up the rice sock and put it on his neck.
I finally got him to bed and he slept until 4, when I found him on the floor in front of his bed crying. I put him back in his bed and he went back to sleep.
This morning he was a bit better, so I gave him his medicine to help him rest and went off to work.
When I got home from work, he had a hard time getting up but wobbled outside to potty, and then he went and got his squeaky sock! Wow, that was a good sign.
He is breathing better and resting nicely in his circle bed as I write.
Who knows, maybe Spring Break was a bit too much for the old fella?

It's a sad day...
When a dog doesn't want to go for walks anymore.
He seemed happy when I slipped on his harness. But once outside he wouldn't even take a step. I tried moving him to the sidewalk. Nope, he wouldn't budge. I just don't really know how to feel about this.
I don't suppose he enjoys riding in the car anymore either.
Two of his favorite things to do.
