Just wondering...

If Paris has some hearing loss also. He doesn't seem to hear me calling him. He moves his head around like he is searching for where the sounds came from. He still hears somethings, doorbells, food rattling (lol), and still recognizes words like "Papa Dee". I'll have to do some testing on this theory, until he goes back for a checkup in May.

Come on Paris, you can do it!

Here is poor Paris looking for the door.

He's close, and the door is open. I'm calling his name...

Nope, right past it. Here he comes again...

Keep coming...

Whew! He made it!

He is so proud of himself! (mommy's proud too!)

A safe place to play

Here is my latest attempt to fix the backyard bushes problem. I went to Home Depot and bought:

Zip ties, Plastic mesh garden fence 4' x 25', pressure treated wood stakes. ($15 total!)
Then I cut the fence in half so I had 2' x 50' of fence.

Pounded in the wood stakes with a sledge hammer (good cardio workout!), and zip tied the fence to the stakes.

Here's Paris in his new SAFE backyard!

Not bad, if I do say so myself!

Drinking bowl revisited....

The non tip over bowl was a great idea, but Paris still steps in the water. So here's my next bright idea...

I put the bowl on top of a bowl, raising it up! Works great so far!

Stuffing himself behind the tv?

What next? I ask myself. Paris tried to stuff himself behind the piece of furniture the tv is on. There is a wad of wires back there so he really had to push himself in there.
He was just sure this was the way to wherever he thought he was going!
Problem solved with a scrap of styrofoam packing.

ta da!

Ahh Poor Baby!

Here is the deep dark jungle of my backyard. How Paris got back there is the question...

Here is the boo boo on his head from pushing through the underbrush. Now I am rethinking the backyard situation. He's lucky he didn't poke his little blind eyes out!

Up for hours...

Up for hours last night at 3 am.
Paris was wandering the room, crying and bumping into things. I let him go outside and he did his stuff.
When I brought him back inside, he wouldn't stay in his bed. Then he tried to get up on my bed, which he never does anymore, so I let him get under the covers and he fell asleep right away.
I was afraid to let him stay there in case he tried to get off and hurt himself so I put him back in his bed (right next to mine). He finally went back to sleep (me too) around 5 or 5:30.We slept till 8am!
Now he is back asleep on my lap.
Whew what a night!

Darn! and Double Darn!

That darn brick wall...

He's not even close.

Nope, that's not the door either...

That's the door jam he's staring at. The door was open but he wouldn't walk through.
My poor Paris!

New Problem: Solved!

Ok, this was a easy one.
Paris kept stepping in his water and dumping it over. He was very embarrassed.
So off to the pet store.....

Yikes! What a huge display. Well, just picture a grown woman on the floor trying to tip over the different dog bowls!
But finally I found one and so far it is working like a charm.

Paris might still step in it but it isn't going to tip over!

Relaxing...

Just hanging out after a vicious squeaky sock game.
(The sock is right beside his head).

Blind dogs love to play too.

Another try to save the Nose!

Here is another try to save poor Paris' nose from the brickwall outside.

A nice person from the ebay store "A Dog's World" mistyandaaron modified one of their soft muzzles so it would stick out past the end of Paris' nose and protect him from those darn bricks!
The one Paris is pointing to is the one he has on.
Don't worry I have it on really loose and it does seem to work, now I just have to get Paris used to wearing it.
