Paris has been having more trouble with his coughing lately. It has almost been a year since he was diagnosed with collapsing trachea and over a year since he started coughing.
Just this week I have had to increase his cough medicine to twice a day. I was home because of the holidays and I noticed him coughing much more, poor thing.
Thankfully the medicine does help, and I don't have to go to something stronger yet.
He just keeps on smiling and playing and being Paris.

Evolution of the lawnchair
This is the evolution of the chair/guide I have made for Paris to find his way back to the door. The green is a pool noodle and under the green table is some pipe insulation. Works pretty well!
Thats my bearded dragon, Boga, in the cage on top of the table.

Well I tried...
Well I tried to take Paris for a walk today. He seemed to want to go.
I put on his harness and leash and we headed out the front door.
We haven't been out the front door in a while. He did ok. Step down. He did. We walked out to the driveway and he froze. He sniffed the air, a nice breeze. He walked into the ferns on the side of the driveway. Nope. He froze again and started to cry and yip. He didn't have any idea where he was. We went back towards the middle of the driveway, he froze again. More yipping. By this time I knew it was time to go in. I gently led him back to the house.
Boy was he releived to be back inside! I suppose he was just out of his safety zone.

Guiding the Blind Dog
Here's my latest idea to help Paris find the door.
It's a lawnchair on it's side. I may make further modifications...I keeps him from going into the little corner beside the door.
Whatever works!

A Dog's Life
Poor Paris, he has such a hard life....not!
Sometimes life is so good you just have to let it all hang out.

Playing with a Blind Dog
Now this is either lazy or clever. My son did this the other day playing with Paris while he was at the computer. Paris thought Matt was still holding the squeaky sock....
He actually moved the chair tugging so hard!
Paris is still doing great, loving his freedom in the back yard but still getting lost sometimes. He had great fun barking at the plumbers yesterday. Little joys add up in the life of a blind wonderdog.

Doing great!
Paris has been doing great lately. No people food has really trimmed down his tummy, and I think that helps with his breathing. I haven't had to give him his cough medicine in two days.
He still is progressively getting lost more and I really need to stop helping him find his way!
He has finally learned to stop on command when he is about to walk into something. (His poor little head)
More pictures soon, I promise!
